Andrew Lion - līder|lāder
COMING SOON — Andrew Lion: līder|lāder…
Bassist, composer, and producer Andrew Lion (Negative Press Project) unveils līder|lāder, a genre-defying, post-jazz odyssey arriving in 2026 on Envelopmental Music Records. Recorded across Seattle, Oakland, and Bend with an electrifying cast of collaborators, the album blurs the lines between high-voltage jazz, progressive rock, and kinetically urgent expression—a texturally rich exploration of ascent, rhythm, and melody. In the spirit of creative pioneers like Donny McCaslin, Kneebody, and Now vs. Now, līder|lāder merges the heart of indie rock and prog sentiments with the mind of modern jazz.
Featuring Ruthie Dineen (piano, rhodes), Luis Salcedo (guitar), Eric Vanderbilt-Mathews (tenor sax, synth), Hristo Vitchev (guitar), Rafa Postel (trumpet), Joel Behrman (trumpet), Eli Maliwan (tenor sax), Ian McArdle (synth), Rick Muñoz, Evan Woodle, and Jacob Richards (drums), Micah Hummel (percussion), and vocalists Liv Sindler and Jeff Denson, the project showcases Lion’s expansive musical vision and deep network of collaborators. Recorded and mixed by Adam Muñoz and mastered by Ken Lee, along with audiophile vinyl lacquer mastering by Jeff Powell, līder|lāder will be released on digital, CD, and vinyl formats.
An exclusive single, featuring trumpet innovator Cuong Vu will separately precede the full release on Digital and Download platforms—an early glimpse into Lion’s unfolding world of sound—where drive, harmony, and risk coalesce into something both introspective and immense.
